Fourth of July T-Shirt Design Contest
Design Guidelines
Must include the words “Orinda” and “4th of July”
Must include the year “2024”
Format must be hand drawn on 8.5” x 11” paper.
Must include only red white and blue colors
It will be printed on a blue t-shirt, the color of the t-shirt will be selected by and at the sole discretion of the OA.
Your design must be wholly original artwork and can not contain copyrighted material.
PURPOSE OF THE T-SHIRTS
The winning design will be printed on high quality t-shirts. The
t-shirts will be sold to the general public before and at the 4th of July Celebration in downtown Orinda.
ELIGIBILITY/ENTRY
There is no entry fee to submit a design. Only one design submission per contestant. If you are under the age of 18, you may create a design but it must be submitted on your behalf by a parent or guardian.
Entrant must a student attending school in Lafayette, Moraga or Orinda and be enrolled in grades K through 7th.
Fourth of July Celebration INFORMATION
The Orinda Association Fourth of July Celebration has been a 40 year tradition in Orinda. The parade traverses all of downtown Orinda. This year we have revived our tradition of having student designed T-shirts to commemorate the events of 4th of July. Important Dates
Submit your design (1 per contestant) by the deadline of May 3, 2024.
Entries will be judged by two Orinda Association Board Members and the Chair of the T-shirt Design Contest.
Announcement of contest winners will be on May 12th, 2024. Winner will be contact by phone or email using the information provided on your entry form.
Prizes
Winning design will be awarded:
$100 cash
acknowledgment of the award in The Orinda News, and on The Orinda Association website.
design will be placed on the Official Orinda Classic Car Show T-shirt for 2024 and winning designer will receive a free t-shirt.
Honorable mentions:
at least one submission in each grade will be acknowledged on the Orinda Association website.
Judging
Designs will be judged by a panel of 3 judges which include board members and representatives of The Orinda Association. The entry will be judged on the following criteria:
Originality
Visibility - is it eye catching and visible from a distance
Does it coincide with the theme of The Orinda Association 4th of July Celebration
Feasibility - must be easy to reproduce on a T-Shirt.
FORM OF ENTRIES and LOCATION OF DROP BOXES FOR SUBMISSIONS
WHAT: Entry is to be submitted in hand drawn form on a paper 8.5” x 11”. (No digital art accepted). Student’s name must be written on the reverse side of the art.
HOW: Please click the button below to download and print the two page entry form. Both pages of the form below, which are an Entry Form/Acknowledgement and Assignment that the contestant has read and agrees to the rules must be filled out, signed, and affixed to the original art.
WHERE: Please submit the student art, attached to the Entry Form in the sealed drop-boxes located in the front office of: Sleepy Hollow, Glorietta, Wagner, Del Rey and OIS Schools. In addition, there will be drop boxes at The Orinda Association office 26 Orinda Way, Library Plaza Level and the Orinda Library front Desk.
