Volunteers Needed for LASD Pack Out!

A local organization is looking for volunteers to pack 4,500 backpacks by January 1st, 2018.  

Ideally 5-7 volunteers (at a time) will help pack out large amount of school backpacks that are being donated to disadvantaged students in the Los Angeles School District.

Volunteers Needed:

Adults, High Schoolers, College Age or Middle Schoolers with an Adult
Groups of 5, 7 at a time.

Mindful Littles & Peace Kits for Veterans

School is out on Friday, November 10, in observation of Veteran's Day.

 Mindful Littles is very excited to partner with Veteran's PATH, an organization committed to helping veterans find meaning, purpose and healing through mindfulness and outdoor experiences. 

We will be gathering as a group to: 

•Learn about Veteran's Day & hear from real veterans
•Express gratitude for our veterans
•Put together Peace Kits for veterans

Orinda Senior Needs Help Moving Storage Items

Orinda Senior needs help transferring boxes in half full 5' x 10' storage unit to a smaller unit in same facility in Pacheco.

Some items can go to a thrift store and a bike needs to go to Walnut Creek for a tune up.

Perhaps a teen with a parent could volunteer to help and earn community services hours!

Volunteers Needed for Lafayette Art & Wine Festival

The Lafayette Art & Wine Festival, held each year on the third weekend in September, is the largest event in Lamorinda and one of the five biggest outdoor festivals in Contra Costa County. Over 50,000 attended in 2010, strolling among stalls of art, handmade crafts, sampling foods from top local restaurants, and enjoying quality wines and microbrews.

We are a four time winner of the Diablo Magazine Best of the East Bay’s Best Festival – including winning in 2013.  If you are Interested in volunteering, please click on the link !

American Cancer Society - Relay for Life of Lamorinda


Youth and adult volunteers are needed to help with the upcoming Relay for Life Lamorinda event.

This is a 24-hour community event that celebrates survivors, and remembers loved ones lost to the disease.  Currently recruiting survivor teams, volunteers and general promotion for the event.

Our Memorial Day Baseball Tournament in Walnut Creek has volunteer hours available for anyone in need of service hours. Jobs include working the grill, counter, set-up/tear-down, and field prep between games. 2-3 hr shifts available May 24th, 25th, & 26th. The games are at Heather Farms and Northgate High School in Walnut Creek.

The Wildlife Festival is Looking for your Participation!

Where & when: April 27 at the Wagner Ranch Nature Area.

The Wildlife Festival is attended by kids, parents, high-schoolers, and other community members. The 2013 festival was attended by nearly 300 people.

There are booths and performances with fun and educational material.  If you or your organization would like to participate in this event, volunteers are needed from 9:30am to 7pm

Moraga Treeline Triathlon - VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!

We URGENTLY  need your help for traffic safety for the forthcoming Moraga Treeline Triathlon on Saturday morning the 26th for April from 6:30 am to 10:30 am. 

Your help will be critical to ensure the safety of the bicyclists on their ride from Campo High School to Canyon School and return.

The commitment for you would be:

  • Attend a 'traffic safety' class on either Wednesday or Thursday the 23rd or 24th of April at the Hacienda in Moraga at 7 pm for one hour
  • Provide safety for the riders on Saturday the 26th of April from 7:00 am to 10:30 am

 Orinda Action Day of Community Service

Please register to clean up our city and beautify our community on Saturday, April 19! Check in starting 9:00 am at Orinda Library Plaza. First 300 volunteers receive free t-shirt. Report back to Library Plaza after project completion (11:30-noon) for pizza and celebration. Lend a hand, we need your help!

Do you love books, enjoy being among other book lovers, and have some free time?  The Friends of the Orinda Library are looking for a BOOKSHOP COORDINATOR!

The Coordinator see that the Bookshop is stocked regularly with books from the Sorting Room, and also makes sure there are plenty of books available in the Bookshop during the monthly sales.
