The City of Orinda is hosting a Pan-Asian Arts Festival this Memorial Day weekend.
The two-day celebration, part of Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month, is free of charge and features programs for all ages including:
A Chinese lion dance, Asian art exhibits, Bollywood dancing, Japanese animated films, Henna hand painting, Gamelan dance, Food Trucks and Mochi-making..
The Festival is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Orinda, the Orinda Library, the Friends of the Orinda Library and the City of Orinda.

Tony Award Winner, John Lloyd Young to open Orinda Theatre Live Concert
On February 1, 2018 the 180-seat auditorium at the Orinda Theatre will be transformed into a classic cabaret venue. Tony Award Winner, John Lloyd Young will kick off the Spring series.
John Lloyd Young originated the role of Frankie Valli in Broadway’s Award-winning Best Musical and international hit, Jersey Boys. He also starred in Clint Eastwood’s film adaptation of the show.
Thursday, February 1st at 7:30PM. Tickets range from $50 to a $100 VIP ticket, which includes seating in the first 3 rows, a meet and greet with Mr. Lloyd after the show at Cine Cuvee and a Jersey Boys Blu-Ray. Boys team charity of Orinda invites all boys and families entering 7th -12th grades to an informational meeting on Monday, January 29 at Temple Isaiah from 6pm - 7pm.
Boys team charity is a national parent/son volunteer service organization that is making a difference in our extended community.

Saint Mary’s College and Common Interest Management are hosting Lamorinda Night on Saturday, December 9 at 5:00 PM during our men’s basketball game against Seattle University.

A local organization is looking for volunteers to pack 4,500 backpacks by January 1st, 2018.
Ideally 5-7 volunteers (at a time) will help pack out large amount of school backpacks that are being donated to disadvantaged students in the Los Angeles School District.
